I have loved building things as long as I can remember, and used to ask my Dad for a hammer and nails so I could ‘make somthing’.
Both my dad and grandfather were highly skilled with tools. They could make and repair a wide range of things, including stripping down and reconditioning combustion engines, as well as working confidently with wood and metal. My grandfather even built his own house on the farm. My dad focused more on electrical and electronic work. In fact, practical DIY skills run throughout my entire family.
